Early Mock-Ups of our Big Ocean eXplorer (BOX) mobile application, submitted for the first round of the XPrize Big Ocean Button Challenge

There were 80 submissions competing in the first round, of which 45 submissions were selected for eligibility for the second round of competition.  The next phase of the competition requires a working version of our BOX mobile application submitted by 31 August.  15 submissions out of the 45 remaining ones will move on to the final evaluation phase following the voting period in September.

The teams responsible for the 15 selected mobile applications will be given the chance to submit upgraded/revised versions of the apps (they submitted in August) in support of the final evaluation event, where $100,000 in prize money will be awarded.

There is still a lot of work to be completed, but we wanted to thank everyone for their support up to this point.  Together we are finding innovative ways to empower those who protect our Oceans and our Planet, and that's a really very cool thing to dedicate some of our time and resources too.
